I&I Lahore seizes smuggled goods worth Rs910m near Raiwind Road

LAHORE: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) has seized smuggled goods worth Rs910 million during two Intelligence Based Operations (IBOs)

Sources said that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Saima Shahzad received credible information that huge quantity of foreign origin clothes and miscellaneous goods are dumped in a premises owned by Daud Jan located inside Think & Grow private School, Raiwind Road, Lahore

She immediately constituted a team under the supervision of Ch. Rizwan Bashir Kalair, Additional Director-ASO comprising Mr. Ali Asad, Deputy Director-ASO and staff for search of the said godown.

After fulfillment of all legal formalities, undersigned Intelligence Officer along with other customs staff and officers reached the said premises one Muhammad Irfan Khan introduced himself as the Manager of the said godown and other person Zain Ullah Khan introduced himself as General Manager of the godown were found.

The search was conducted in the presence of both persons and other witnesses. On search, huge quantity of smuggled cloths of different kind and other miscellaneous goods were found lying in the said godown.

They were asked to contact the owner of the goods for production of legal import documents of the recovered goods. They couldn’t provide any valid documentary evidence to prove legal import and possession of the goods. The goods were seized. Value of the goods is Rs856 million.

Moreover, in another operation foreign origin smuggled physiotherapy equipments were recovered from a plot at PIA society Lahore.
