Multan: Customs Intelligence seizes smuggled items worth Rs 18.71 million in March

MULTAN: Pakistan Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan seized items worth Rs.18.71million by foiling different smuggling bids during March-2015.

I&I Multan made 11 seizures in its regions including Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan and Sadiqabad by conduction successful operations against the smugglers.

Multan intelligence seized Iranian origin Ceramic tiles weighing 23408 Kilogram and cloth weighing 10450 kg worth Rs 10.06 million involving duty/taxes Rs 4.13 million and impounded two trucks used for supplying the smuggled items bearing registration No. TTKQ-602 and TKQ-553.

I&I also confiscated smuggled items worth Rs 6.8 million in Dera Ghazi Khan and lodged five cases against the smugglers. Custom seized 10400 liters diesel and impounded vehicles including Toyota Vitz, Hilux Surf and Toyota Corolla during operations against smuggling.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation Sadiqabad Region team impounded two vehicles worth Rs 1.85 million in the regions during March on duty tax evasion.

While talking to Customs Today, Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Additional Director said that intelligence teams are determined to curb the smuggling in the region and there is no room for smugglers.

He informed that customs was taking action against the smugglers with the cooperation of the other law enforcement agencies. He added that all effective measure will be taken to put the smugglers behind the bars.

He also appreciated the performance of the intelligence teams and vowed to continue such operations against the culprits.
