Ijaz urges government to provide proper security for traders

LAHORE: Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) President Ijaz A Mumtaz, while talking to a delegation of All Pakistan Paper Merchants Association (APPMA), said that LCCI has been playing a vital role in bridging the gap between the government and private sectors and would leave no stone unturned to get the issues of traders solved on priority basis.
LCCI Vice President Syed Mahmood Ghaznavi, Chairman APPMA Muhammad Hanif, President Zahid Maqsood Butt, Vice President Malik Rafiq and Khamis Saeed Butt also spoke on the occasion.
LCCI President said that Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry is highlighting the issues of traders at all possible forums.
He said that traders of markets pay a huge amount in shape of tax but in reply no facilities were being provided to them. He said that the LCCI is representing the traders and business community and would leave no stone unturned to solve their problems.
LCCI Vice President Syed Mahmood Ghaznavi urged the concerned departments to solve the issues of traffic, poor sewerage system, non-availability of parking and streetlights, interference of tax officials and by day increasing crimes against traders in the paper market.
Syed Mahmood Ghaznavi told the traders that the LCCI has been struggling hard for strong economy of Pakistan. He said that Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry has established a Help Desk to address the complaints of traders regarding property tax.
He also strongly condemned incident of murder of a paper trader Hammad Raza and urged the government to take immediate steps and arrange proper security system in the markets to secure the business community otherwise bad law & order situation prevailing in the country would damage the economic activities.
