IMF agreement to help improve national economy: Bukhari

LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Syed Samsam Ali Bukhari Monday said that the agreement reached with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) would bring improvement in the national economy.

In his to media, he said that for the first time in the history of the country, the foreign loan would not be plundered or utilized for vested interests, adding that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government wanted to strengthen the national economy.

It would be the first and the last foreign loan, taken by the PTI government, he said and added that honesty was the hallmark of Prime Minister Imran Khan and his team.

The minister said that besides mutual consultation, the government took all the parties on board on the matter, adding that the confidence shown by the international organisations in the government was a good omen.

He said that the opposition could not hoodwink the nation with artificial facts and figures. Strengthening of economy would resolve many problems of the country, he added.
