Haroon Akhtar to preside over Tax Reforms Commission’s meeting tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: A high-level meeting of the Implementation Committee of Tax Reforms Commission will be held on March 2 2017 (Thursday) at Federal Board of Revenue conference room. Minister of State for Revenue Haroon Akhtar will preside over the meeting while chairman Federal Board of Revenue Dr. Muhammad Irshad, Chairman Tax Reforms Commission Masood Naqvi, Member Operations Rehmat Ullah Khan Wazir, Member Customs Zahid Khokhar, Member Taxpayer Audit Rana Seerat, Member Human Resource Management Rozi Khan Burki, Member Administration Muhammad Majid Qureshi, Member Information Technology Ms. Nausheen Javed, Member Inland Revenue Policy Dr. Muhammad Iqbal, Member Legal Hafiz Mohammad Ali Indhir, and other senior officials will also attend the meeting.

Sources told Customs Today that during the meeting, the committee will review proposals and decisions and implementation which were approved during the previous meeting. Member Inland Revenue Rehmat Ualla Khan Wazir will make presentation on the draft rules regarding the valuation of property.

Member Legal Hafiz Mohammad Ali Indhir and IR Policy will make a presentation on the advance ruling mechanism. Member Inland Revenue Dr. Mohammad Iqbal will apprise the committee on the progress of three structural reforms regarding establishment of Large Taxpayer Units, corporate regional tax payer offices and zones and composite Units in peripheral areas accorded by tax reforms commission. Member FATE will apprise the committee on the progress made on Ethics and Grievance Redressing System. Member IT Ms Nausheen Javed will make a presentation on the issue of Electronic monitoring of production of the tobacco industry.
