Importers laud Collector Dr Farid for resolving outstanding issues at KICT

KARACHI: The importers have lauded Collector (Appraisement-West) Dr Farid Iqbal Qureshi over his active support and cooperation in order to resolve the issue of grounding containers at Karachi International Containers’ Terminal (KICT).

In a letter of appreciation to the collector, the importers appreciated him for taking keen interest in resolving the issues of the community. They also acknowledged the efforts of other Customs officers, who have been deployed at the KICT for smoothly grounding the containers at the terminal.

It may be mentioned here that the importers were facing immense issues in connection with grounding the containers at the KICT and had registered their complaints regarding the issue before Collector Dr Farid Iqbal Qureshi, who directed the terminal authorities to resolve the issue.

Following the direction from the collector, the services at terminal have been improved after the three-day holiday, during which the terminal authorities made appropriate measures to ensure smooth grounding of containers at the KICT. Furthermore, the delay and backlog at the terminal is also being removed.

The importers assured the Collector Dr. Farid Iqbal that they will extend their full support to the Collectorate in future.
