Inception of Plant-III enhances production capacity of Adhi field

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) Tuesday said that after the inauguration of third plant, the capacity of the Adhi Field has significantly increased to produce gas, natural gas liquid (NGL) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

The newly-inaugurated Plant-III has the potential to produce 25mmscfd (million standard cubic feet per day) gas, 5,300bbld (billion barrels liquid per day) NGL, and 150 mtd (metric ton per day) LPG, they told APP.

Now, with inception of the Plant-III, Adhi Field’s production capacity is standing at 75 mmscfd gas, 10,300bbld NGL and 290mtd LPG, the sources informed. Adhi Field is a joint venture of PPL, Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) and Pakistan Oil fields Limited (POL).

Commenting on future activities, they said that PPL was conducting a new reservoir simulation study, adding that additional six to eight development wells would be required to enhance production of the field. “Wellhead compression and exploration of sub-thrust is planned in 2017,” they added.
