WASHINGTON: India stressed upon the US to avoid investment in the Pakistani hydro-electric project of Diamer-Bhasha dam.
The media reports said that Indian government through diplomatic channels has conveyed to the Obama administration to stop their companies from investing in the project.
Indian officials claimed in the complaint that the dam was being built in the Gilgit-Baltistan region, which is a disputed territory between India and Pakistan.
The United States hosted a one-day conference in Washington recently to help Pakistan to raise funds for the 4,500MW hydro-electric project.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar also rejected the Indian objections on the Diamer-Bhasha dam.
