NEW DELHI: Indian exports of polished diamonds in November period fell 10 percent on the year to $1.18 billion, according to provisional figures released by the Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council. However, exports of polished diamonds in the April-November period increased by 12 percent on the year to $15.41 billion.
Exports of rough diamonds jumped 79 percent on the year to $111 million last month, and for the fiscal year so far soared 39 percent to $942 million, respectively. Net exports of all diamonds, gemstones and jewelry last month dropped by 38 percent to $1.68 billion, while for the April-November period there was a rise of 9.2 percent to almost $23.5 billion.
