India, Middle East deep water project must complete on time: PHD Chamber

INDIA: PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry has appealed to the government to multiply its efforts so that the proposed middle East to India Deep Water Pipeline Project is executed without any further delay for smooth inflow of natural gas from this region to enable India realize its energy security sooner than later as also walk on the higher growth trajectory to catapult its economy in particular.

The proposed route of the project from Middle East Port to Porbandar in South Gujarat via Arabian Sea could be ideal as over 2,000 Trillion Cubic Feet of natural gas is held by the countries in the region with high success rate of natural gas exploration at 79% vis-vis world average of 30-35%, according to the Chamber. Its President Mr. Alok B. Shriram said that India has very good trading relationships with the countries in the region particularly since gas rich Middle East is looking for new export markets and India is one such leading economy, suitably located to receiving natural gas from this region to serve its economy better.
