India police arrest 4 men for selling duplicate products

PUNE: The Warje Malwadi police recently arrested four men for allegedly selling duplicate products of two multinational companies. The police have recovered duplicate toners, cartridges and other material worth Rs 34 lakh.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Suresh Ramdas Gautam (35) a resident of Universal Society, Warje Malwadi, Ravi Gisiyavan Gautam (25) and Dinesh Chabilal Jaiswar (22) both residing at Paigude residency, Warje Malwadi, originally from Uttar Pradesh and Rajendra Ramdas Gautam (31) of Universal Society, Warje Malwadi.

Anuja Deshmane, senior inspector of the Warje Malwadi police station told TOI that Rajinder Singh has approached the police station and informed that they had got the information that duplicate products of two companies had been kept at a godown in Jaydeep Chowk in Warje Malwadi. “We confirmed the news and informed deputy commissioner of police (zone-I) Tushar Doshi and assistant commissioner of police (Deccan Division) Tukaram Gaud,” Deshmane said.

She said as per senior official’s directives the police team raided the godown and found duplicate products worth Rs 34 lakh stored in the godown. “We have seized the products. We arrested the three persons, who were in the godown. Later, we arrested Rajendra Gautam, who was running the godown in Warje Malwadi area,” Deshmane said.
