BENGALURU: A business delegation from the Yunnan province of China on Monday evinced keen interest in establishing a ‘Chinese Industrial Park’ in the state. Additional Chief Secretary to the Department of Commerce and Industries Ratna Prabha, who interacted with the delegation, has agreed in principle to allot 100 acres for the purpose at Vasanthanarasapura industrial area in Tumakuru district.
The delegation led by Liu Le, director of Yunnan Sunpa Group of Companies, has expressed its readiness to bring investments in various sectors including telemedicine, manufacture of medical equipment, solar power panels and food processing.
According to a statement from the Federation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Tallam R Dwarakanath, Sunpa Group has promised an investment of around $1 billion in the proposed industrial park.
