LAHORE: The Plant Protection Department has warned the Indian authorities of banning the import of vegetables if any contaminated consignment was sent.
The Pakistani authorities held a meeting with their Indian counterpart and discussed the issue of garlic consignments, which were intercepted by Pakistan Customs at Wagah Land Freight Unit after finding it injurious to human health.
On the other hand, Indian authorities assured Pakistani officials that they would keep a strict check on every consignment and would not allow clearing of contaminated items from their side.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan has recently sent more than 27 trucks of contaminated garlic back to India.
The officials of Pakistani Customs, Rangers were also present in the meeting that was held at zero line of Pakistan-India border.
