NEW DELHI: Indian Customs seized lorry that was used in sand smuggling near Omalur.
On a tip off, a police party was conducting surprise check of vehicles near Omalur on Saturday, when it spotted a lorry transporting river sand from Tiruchi to Dharmapuri without proper papers. The police seized the lorry and arrested the driver Sakthivel (42) of Palakkode.
The revenue officials seized a tractor that was used for smuggling crushing stones near Taramangalam. The Omalur police seized the tractor and arrested driver Raja (32).
