Indian delegation in Muscat to enhance business opportunities

MUSCAT: A business meet will be hosted by the Indian Embassy in Muscat to enable Indian companies participating in a trade event in the Sultanate to interact with their Omani counterparts.

The event is expected to provide a platform for exchange of information and ideas about doing business in these sectors, including setting-up joint ventures.

A composite Indian delegation comprising around seven health-care institutes and hospitals and 15 companies from the food industry are participating under the banner of the Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI) at the Oman Medhealth & Wellness exhibition and Food & Hospitality Exhibition, respectively, at the Oman International Exhibition Centre, Muscat from September 7-9, 2015.

Omani companies dealing in the aforementioned health and food sectors are also invited to interact with Indian companies at the Oman International Exhibition Centre during the working hours from 7-9 September, 2015.

The Trade Promotion Council of India, a registered non-profit trade body recognised by the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry of India has anchored the participation of 15-Indian companies from food processing and commodity industry as part of ‘India Pavilion’ at Food & Hospitality Oman Exhibition, to display their products, technology, and ingredients to explore business opportunities available in the Sultanate.

The delegation includes companies like Bhagwati Lacto vegetarian exports Ltd; Daulat Rice & General Mill; Drrk Foods Pvt Ltd; Grm Overseas Ltd; K. Rice International; Keventer Agro Ltd; Lekh Raj Narinder Kumar; Le Nissi Impex Pvt Ltd; Mohan Mutha Polytech; Rajesh Industries; RP Basmati Rice Ltd; Snj Trade Link Pvt Ltd; Sona Cereal Products Ltd; Umachi Foods & Commodities Pvt Ltd and Veer Overseas Ltd. among others.

Further, seven Indian hospitals and health-care institutes are participating in the Oman Medhealth & Wellness exhibition to showcase their cost-effective and cutting-edge technology, products and equipment and medical prowess to enter the Omani market.

The visiting healthcare institutes include Cethar hospital; Narayana Hridayalaya, Health Travellers Worldwide; Arc International fertility & Research Centre; Global Health City; Prashanth Super Specialty Hospital; and India Tourism Dubai etc. They deal in all types of medical equipment and can provide international level healthcare services and pharmaceuticals.

Medical tourism sector in India has been witnessing immense progress through its innovative competencies and credibility. The food processing industry in India ranks fifth in production, consumption, and export. There is a huge potential for bilateral collaboration in these sectors.
