HYDERABAD: Officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) detained a passenger on Friday and seized 2.44 kg gold worth `62.94 lakh at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in the city.
The DRI officials acting on a tip off, reached the airport and found the gold in an Air India flight that arrived from Dubai and was on its way to Visakhapatnam.
The gold was found concealed in the seats of the aircraft.
Directorate of Revenue Intelligence officials have registered cases under Customs Act and are investigating into the matter.
