HYDERABAD, INDIA: Indian Prohibition and Excise teams have conducted raids at different parts in the city and seized 6,296 sachets of illicitly-distilled (ID) liquor here the other day.
The officials also destroyed 6,600 litres of fermented jaggery wash, 80 litres of ID liquor and 25 barrels in Dhoolpet.
Cases were registered against five persons. The raids were conducted under the supervision of P. Bhagavan Reddy, Assistant Commissioner, P&E (Enforcement).
In a separate case, the officials raided two ID liquor sale points in old city and seized 3,431 sachets. The team raided a house at Nawab Sahab Kunta where 3,000 ID liquor sachets were stored and seized it.
At Puranapul, the officials seized 431 sachets. Cases were registered against Miskeen Khan, Akhter Ahmed and K. Babitha, Inspector S. Chandrasekhar Goud said.
