LAHORE: High Commissioner of India T.C.A Raghavan while addressing at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) said that Pakistan and India have a great potential to become a growth opportunity for each other. He stressed over the promotion of bilateral trade and suggested collective measures for it.
The envoy said that in recent years, the Indian economy had emerged as one of the fastest growing economies of the world. “Trade fairs and exhibitions could play a vital role in enhancing mutual trade ties,” he said.
The Indian HC informed the house that trade volume between India and China was likely to reach $100 billion mark by the end of this year.
On the occasion, LCCI President Ijaz A. Mumtaz said it was matter of concern that despite having many similarities, the two countries have yet to benefit from each other’s strong areas.
He also said that religious tourism, an area marginally exploited, should also increase between the two countries.
