Indian Narcotics Authorities seizes Rs 11cr worth of drugs at Mumbai airport

NEW DELHI: Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials in the wee hours of Tuesday intercepted a Brazilian passenger for allegedly smuggling drugs worth around Rs 11 crore.

This passenger, identified as Mattos Guilherme, who arrived in the city by Ek 500 (Dubai- Mumbai) at around 2.30am was arrested at the Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport’s T2 terminal.

NCB officials intercepted the Brazilian for carrying 7.5 kilogram cocaine, whose market value was around Rs 10.5 crore. The passenger was further interrogated and was taken to the NDPS court at around 1pm. However, it wasn’t ascertained whether the smuggler was produced in the court on Tuesday.
