Indian origin fabrics may penetrate into Islamabad Dry Port, says examination alert

ISLAMABAD: Amanat Khan, Assistant Collector, Islamabad Dry Port, has circulated an “examination alert” that Indian origin fabric consignments, shipped from various international ports, may attempt to get clearance as Chinese origin fabric.

According to details given by sources that Assistant Collector Islamabad Dry Port has circulated an ‘Examination Alert’ which showed an eye opener for the Customs Department.
The sources told CT that Assistant Collector asked the consignment examination authorities that the fabric consignments, being imported at Islamabad Dry Port, should be examined and processed with due care and vigilance.
Sources said the examination alert is being circulated for information and strict implementation with immediate effect. The said circulation has been addressed to the Principal Appraisers of the Islamabad Port, Superintendent Examination and all the Examination and Appraising Officers for quick action.
