Indian police arrest 3 for smuggling ration rice

CHENNAI: The Chennai City Police have charged three persons under the Goondas Act for smuggling and hoarding ration rice.

During a surprise inspection in various parts of the city on October 10 and 11, the police arrested T.R. Satishkumar of Kovur and Paulraj and Bhaskar of Saidapet.

Police officials seized around 4,250 kg of ration rice from Satishkumar and 1,750 kg from the other two in Saidapet.

On investigation, it was found out the three persons had joined hands with Manal Mohan, Sahul and Ramajayam, who hailed from Kancheepuram, and were involved in smuggling and selling of ration rice for several years.
