DELHI: Four red sander smugglers were arrested and 12 red sander logs worth Rs. 7 lakh being transported in two cars were seized during vehicle checking at Kethavaram in Chapadu mandal in Kadapa district here the other day, Chapadu SI Hema Kumar said.
The arrested were identified as — Manchuri Ramana, Muniratnam and Shaik Khader Valli of Chittoor district and Narayanaswamy Naik of Mudigubba mandal in Anantapur district, the SI said. Another accused Venkatesh Naik was at large, he said.
They were transporting the red sander logs in two cars from Brahmamgari Matham mandal, Mr. Hema Kumar said. A case was registered.
