GHAZIABAD: As many as 800 cartons of illegal liquor worth Rs 30 lakh was seized near Vijay Vihar. The consignment, which was being smuggled in a truck from Haryana, was meant to be delivered to Baghpat. Two people have been arrested and the truck transporting the consignment was seized.
“In the wee hours of Friday cops signalled a truck to stop at Vijay Vihar check post but the driver dodged them and sped towards the city,” said Sailash Yadav, SHO Tronica City police station, adding, “Our men chased them and intercepted the truck forcing it to stop a few kilometres from the check post.”
“About 800 cartons of Indian Made Foreign Liquor was found in the truck, which we seized. Two accused have been arrested and the truck was also seized,” he said.
