Indian police seize nab 8 red sanders smugglers

KURNOOL: Police and forest officials arrested eight red sanders smugglers and seized 21 logs worth more than Rs. 5 lakh from them at Ahobilam forest area in Kurnool district here the other day.

Police arrested Sudhakar, Sunkanna, Ankanna and Obulesu of Ahobilam while they were shifting logs from Ahobilam to another smuggler Venkateswarlu of T. Lingamdinne of Rudravaram mandal, Allagadda Assistant Superintendent of Police Sashi Kumar said. Another offender, Ravi, fled from the scene.

They confessed that they had been supplying logs to notorious smuggler Mastan Vali of Chagalamarri mandal, he said.
