NEW DELHI: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths, on Tuseday, raided a eucalyptus grove near Hoskote here and recovered around 1,010 kg of red sander that was being stored illegally there.
The CCB claimed that the red sander that was seized was worth over Rs. 30 lakh. They claimed that a 50-year-old man identified as Nasir Basha from Kattigebahalli in Hoskote was storing the red sander illegally.
They also said that Nasir Basha used to get red sanders from Andhra Pradesh illegally to make furniture and music instruments that would later be smuggled to China through Chennai and Mumbai ports.
The CCB sleuths added that he was now on the run and that they were on his look-out.
