Indian rupee descends by 12 paisa against US dollar

MUMBAI: The Indian rupee declined by 12 paise to 64.10 against the US dollar in early trade today, extending weakness for the second day due to appreciation of the American currency overseas.

Besides, month-end demand for the American currency from importers weighed on the rupee but a higher opening in the domestic equity market capped the losses, forex dealers said.
