ELURU: Revenue officials seized three lorries for illegal transportation of sand from reaches in West Godavari district here the other day. According to officials, the revenue staff, on a tip-off, raided at the ramp at Vegeswarapuram in Gopalapuram mandal.
They found some people loading sand illegally from the ramp in two lorries. They seized the vehicles and booked cases. In another incident, the officials seized another lorry at Tadipudi ramp for illegal mining of Sand. They levied `45,000 fine on the lorry owner and seized the lorry. They also booked case against the lorry owners, official said.
