India’s to launches online employment exchange Program

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Digital India” programmed, the government on launched a digital employment exchange that will enable industrial enterprised to find suitable workers and job-seekers to find employment. The government initiative is aimed at strengthening communication between stakeholders and improving efficiencies in service delivery in the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) ministry.

“More than 35% of the Indian population is under 35. Keeping this in mind, the prime minister worked towards converting India into a manufacturing hub. This online portal will develop entrepreneurship and will provide employment to the youth as well,” said Kalraj Mishra, Union minister for MSMEs, while launching the service at an event held by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Ficci), an industry lobby groupFicci president Sanjay Bhatia said the biggest problem faced by MSMEs is training employees. Small enterprises are not willing to invest in employees given that many leave for better positions in large organizations. Most MSMEs also do not have budgets for training.
