JAKARTA: The Jakarta Police said here the other day that Indonesia had turned into an international drug market as seen from the increasing trend of drug circulations and cases found.
“Indonesia has become a drug market, and is no longer a transit country like it used to be,” Jakarta Police chief Ins. Gen. Tito Karnavia said as quoted by kompas.com.
The recent bust by the Jakarta Police for drugs weighing 73 kilograms showed the increasing trend of drug circulation in the country, Tito said.
In the future, Tito added, the Jakarta Police would coordinate with the National Narcotics Body and Indonesia’s Immigration and Customs Agency in the investigation of drug cases.
