JAKARTA: The Indonesian Trade Ministry and the Agency for the Placement and Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers, known as BNP2TKI, signed a memorandum of understanding to improve the standards of the country’s human capital and expand job opportunities.
The agreement will allow the government to promote the potential of Indonesian migrant workers in order to secure more job opportunities. It will also enable both parties to share data between one another to better improve their efforts.
The BNP2TKI has participated in the Trade Ministry’s Trade Expo Indonesia since 2008. As a result, demand for Indonesian migrant workers has grown at each trade expo, reaching a demand for 15,436 workers in 2015, up 29 percent from the previous year.
