Industrialists are backbone of economy: Ebad

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat ul Ebad Khan has said that industrialists are backbone of economy of any country as they not only create vast number of employment but also make valuable contributions towards national exchequer in form of taxes and duties.

This he stated while talking with a five-member delegation of North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry (NKATI) led by Noor Ahmed Khan, Chairman Standing Committee of FPCCI on Law and Order at Governor House here on Tuesday.

Dr. Ebad said that Sindh has vast potential of investment in every field and establishment of various specialized industrial zones in different cities of the province was the proof of sincerity of Government towards making Sindh an industrialized province.

He said that Karachi with its strategic importance and huge investment potential was the economic hub of Pakistan. Any economic activity in Karachi directly affects the overall economic scenario of the country, he added.

Governor Sindh said that Government was attaching top priority for solution of problems being confronted by industrial zones throughout the province. Their security, water and sanitation problems, roads and other grievances would be resolved on priority basis to ensure their more effective working and enhanced production.

He said that Karachi operation is against terrorists, extortionists, kidnappers for ransom and target killers that have yielded tremendous results as law & order situation has improved visibly which is being appreciated and commended by the masses.

Noor Ahmed Khan thanked the governor and assured that industrialists would continue to contribute towards progress and prosperity of the province with their industrial units by increasing production and thus generating more employment opportunities.
