Police arrested a man smuggling 18 packets of drugs at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport (INIA) on Sunday night. He had been carrying the packets in his pocket and was departing to a resort.
According to Police, they suspected the man, 28 due to his behavior in the Domestic Terminal. Upon security check, officers of the INIA Tourist Police Unit discovered the drugs and arrested the man around 8.50pm.
The Drug Enforcement Department is currently investigating the case, said Police.
They have not released additional details of the man or whether he has a past criminal record.
