INKA Expedites Completion of 50 Train Cars for Bangladesh

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – State-owned trainmaker PT Industri Kereta Api (INKA) is presenty completing the 50 train cars ordered by Bangladesh for delivery in October.

“Bangladesh has trusted INKA for three times . This year, it orders 250 train cars and the completion target is next year,” INKA director Budi Noviantoro said on Sunday, September 2.

In July, INKA received an order worth Rp700 billion from Bangladesh to manufacture 250 train cars, with the first 50 to be delivered in October.

Presently, INKA is also completing another order from the Philippines to make three locomotives, four diesel trains and 15 passenger trains. INKA is also finishing 438 cars for state-owned railway operator PT KAI.

“Our plate is full at the moment. We work 24 hours in three shifts to complete this work,” the INKA director said.
