ISLAMABAD: Inland Revenue (IR) has denied deploying back Sales Tax 2800 employees to Pakistan Customs (PC) department ignoring Federal Board of Revenue policy decision.
According to details in 2009 on the occasion of restructuring of Inland Revenue and Pakistan Customs departments, 3000 employees settled in the Sales tax department that time and it was inquired from these employees to decide where they want to perform their duties either in IR or PC. 2800 employees showed interest to go to Pakistan Customs, but the IR department denies sending them back ignoring FBR policy decision 2009.
It is important to mention here that now after the retirement of 600 employees 2200 employees including Superintendents, Deputy Superintendents and inspectors are ‘look busy, do nothing’ and getting double salary from the IR.
