MELBOURNE: While gamer score might not mean as much as it used to, there are plenty of players who use achievements to inspire them to explore and conquer their games. In that spirit Insomniac Games have announced three new achievements for Sunset Overdrive, as well as a juicy 40% discount on downloads of the game from the Xbox Game Store.
The three achievements are worth a paltry 25 gamer score each, challenging you to beat scores on some Buck National themed challenges. You can find the full details at Xbox Wire. For those still on the fence about Sunset Overdrive, the 40% discount currently on offer will be of more interest.
You can check out our review of Sunset Overdrive here. The discount runs for a limited time and brings the price down to $53.97 AUD for the standard edition or $70.02 AUD for the Deluxe Edition that includes the first three DLC add-ons as part of the “season pass” and some exclusive skins and in game trinkets.
In an action you don’t usually see from a video game, Insomniac and Microsoft Studios have announced that three new achievements have been made available for the open-world action game Sunset Overdrive.
Designed to “challenge players to have more fun while dashing all over Sunset City and sowing mayhem with the TNTeddy”, these new achievements are based on three new Buck National themed challenges introduced to the game – and are worth 25 gamer score points each. Details of all three can be found below:
Hardcore!: Buck National vs The Apocalypse
Beat the score of 600,000 on the Challenge “Buck’s National vs The Apocalypse.”
Hardcore!: Buck Strikes Back
Beat the score of 564,500 on the Challenge “Buck’s Strikes Back.”
Hardcore!: Buck Stops Here
Beat the score of 703,700 on the Challenge “Buck’s Stops Here.”
Insomniac Games have hinted that even more achievements will be released for Sunset Overdrive in the coming months. Especially as open world games are supposed to encourage players to explore every possibility from every nook around the world, the inclusion of these new challenges only help to provide added replayability to an already fulfilling game.
