Installation of CCTV cameras at Appraisement-East improves efficiency

KARACHI: The recent installation of CCTV cameras at the Model Customs Collectorate of Appraisement-East has helped improve the efficiency of staff, a collectorate officer said.

“The feeling of being watched has improved the efficiency at the collectorate as the staff has become more attentive to address the problems of the taxpayers,” sources said.

Facilitating taxpayers has also been highly welcomed by the clearing agents and taxpayers because of the improvement in the seating arrangements, the installation of the Queue Management System and particularly the installation of an air conditioning system.

Sources said that the post-release verification has also been improved to help collect additional revenue. The PVR is an ongoing process which is bound to enhance the volume of revenue.
