ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Interior has added the name of Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) Managing Director Zahid Mir on the exit control list (ECL), a private media outlet reported on Thursday.

The ministry has also included the names of OGDCL Chief Financial Officer Irtiza Ali Qureshi and Executive Director Abdul Rauf Khajjak on the no-fly list.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has been investigating charges pertaining to illegal appointments at an operational level, misuse of resources and unauthorized spending.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government had appointed Zahid Mir as OGDCL’s chief financial officer and also handed him over the office of the managing director with a monthly pay package of Rs6 million. Mir has been the helm of affairs at OGDCL for the last four-and-a-half years.

The NAB Rawalpindi had summoned Mir on March 7, 2019, directing him to appear before the investigation team and record his statement in the said case.

NAB Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal had assigned this multi-million corruption scam to the NAB Rawalpindi/Islamabad director general in 2018 with instructions to launch a thorough investigation in the case.
