COPENHAGEN: Invest in Denmark, an agency under the Foreign Ministry that helps foreign companies to set up a business in the country, generated a record-high 1,700 new jobs in 2015.
Thanks to the agency’s tailor-made solutions, the Foreign Ministry enabled the foreign companies to thrive, mainly within the green technology and IT sectors.
“Although 2015 was a record year for Invest in Denmark, we only managed to attract one Swedish investment and nothing from Norway,” Kristian Jensen, the foreign minister, told Børsen.
“I am convinced we can do better. Therefore, we are sending two new investment advisers to the embassies in Oslo and Stockholm to help Norwegian and Swedish companies see business opportunities in Denmark.
Last year, the US tech company Apple decided to invest 6.3 billion kroner to build a new data centre in Jutland.
