IOCO directorate, 50 officials shifted to Canal View area due to lack of space at Customs House

LAHORE: The Customs Input Output Co-efficient Organization (IOCO) has finally shifted its office in a rented building situated at Canal View due to shortage of space at the Customs House.

Sources told Customs Today the IOCO’s directorate will start its routine official work at the new office premises.

As many as 50 staff members, including Director Muhammad Sadiq, Additional Director Ch Ashraf, Additional Director Madam Niama Batool, Deputy Director Tayyba Bukhari and Deputy Director Numan Tashfeen, have been working in the Directorate’s strength in Lahore.

It was reported that the IOCO department has to be shifted form the Customs House Nabha Road due to the shortage of offices for the officials.

The Directorate has been trying to shift the Directorate from last year, however, finally the Directorate has been shifted near the first gate of Canal View.

Customs IOCO Director, Muhammad Sadiq, recently has also confirmed to Customs Today that they were running shortage of accommodation for the staff.

Source said that FBR has made only two Directors for the whole country including Director IOCO (North) established in Lahore which would deal with exporters of Punjab, KP and Gilgit-Baltistan while the other Director IOCO (South) in Karachi, which would deal with exporters of Sindh and Balochistan.
