NEW YORK: iPhone sales reached $74.5 million for the first quarter that witnesses the firm raking in revenues of $74.6bn for the three-month period.
Apple smashed its iPhone records during the quarter ending 27 December, thanks to the “unprecedented popularity” of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
This is a huge increase from 51 million iPhones in the same period last year and 39.2 million in Q4. and marks the first time that sales of the smartphone have broken the 60 million and 70 million mark during a single quarter.
The numbers dwarf smartphone sales of 10.5 million announced by Microsoft just a day earlier.
