IR-II Commissioner Qasim Khan restores GST registration of defaulter contractor

ISLAMABAD: Inland Revenue-II Commissioner Qasim Khan has restored the general sales tax (GST) registration of government contractor Muhammad Ayyub Khan after the payment of fine/penalty.

The IR authorities had issued a notice to Ayyub Khan, a resident of House # 183, St # 24, Sector I-9/1, for not filing his GST returns for the period between February 2010 and January 2015.

The IR commissioner showed dissatisfaction over the cold response of the defaulter, and imposed a fine on him for not filing his GST returns, besides suspending his GST registration.

Muhammad Ayyub Khan then deposited the fine to the tune of Rs 295,000 along with the GST returns, after which his GST registration was restored.
