IR Tribunal directed to decide M/S Rockville Technologies’ appeal in 60 days

ISLAMABAD: A single bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday directed the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR) to decide an appeal filed before it by M/S Rockville Technologies Limited within 60 days.

Justice Aamer Farooq of the IHC issued these directives while hearing a petition filed by M/S Rockville Technologies Limited and disposed the case of.

The court also restrained the Regional Tax Office (RTO), Islamabad, from recovering Rs 23,055,794 from the appellant. The department had created demand for the said amount under provisions of Sales Tax, 1999 through order dated, October 30, 2015.

The appellant had challenged the said order before the court. IR chief commissioner, ATIR, and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and others were also made respondent in the case.

Earlier, the appellant had exhausted 60 and 90 days stay on the matter granted by the ATIR. The appellant had prayed the court to direct ATIR to decide the fate of its appeal filed there.
