TEHRAN: Iran has banned export and import of low quality commodities, a senior official with Iran’s Customs Administration Mohammad-Hossein Bagh Enayat said here the other day.
Bagh Enayat said the aim of the ban imposed by the Customs Administration is to encourage the exporters to boost the quality of Iranian products so that they would enjoy better place in global markets.
On the need to monitor standard and satisfactory quality of the Iranian imports, Bagh Enayat said that the Customs Administration is responsible to ensure safety of the commodities being imported to Iran considering the hygienic aspects.
He said that the import of raw-materials or exports of goods have to be productive in terms of value-added and financial proceeds for the country and that the Customs Administration aims to remove obstacles on the way of economic activists and Iranian merchants.
