TEHRAN: Iran started to export 500,000 barrels condensate from Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) of South Pars Phases 15 and 16, made recently been made operational.
The manager of SP Phases 15&16 at POGC, Reza Forouzesh, said that a second cargo with the same volume will be loaded within the next few days.
Forouzesh added that the sweetening units of the phases have been put under maintenance operations over the past day. “Once the operations are over, the capacity of the treatment plants at the phases will reach 40 million cubic meters per day (mcm/d),” he added.
SP Phases 15&16 were made operational in December 2014. The phases are projected to yield 56.6 mcm of natural gas per day, 75,000 barrels of gas condensate on a daily basis, and more than one ton of liquefied propane and butane as well as one million ton of ethane annually.
Iran’s shares South Pars gas field with Qatar. The Iranian section of the huge field has been defined by POGC into 29 projects or phases. Overall, South Pars has about 14 trillion cubic meters of gas, or about eight percent of the total world reserves, and more than 18 billion barrels of liquefied natural gas resources.
