Iran non-oil trade reaches at $41.345b in first six months

TEHRAN: The value of Iran’s non-oil trade reached $41.345 billion in the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 21, according to the Iran Customs Administration.

Iran exported $20.494 billion of non-oil goods in the six-month period, while imported $20.852 billion of non-oil goods, the Fars news agency reported on Monday.

Exports and imports were declined by 14.15 percent and 20.43 percent, respectively, compared to the same period last year.

China, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan, and India were the top five importers of Iranian goods.

Meanwhile, China, the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Turkey, and India were the top five exporters of goods to Iran.

Iran has set a target of $77.5 billion in non-oil exports for the current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 21, according to Mojtaba Khosrotaj, the Iranian deputy industry, mining, and trade minister.

Iran’s total non-oil exports hit $49.744 billion in the previous Iranian calendar year, showing 18.87 percent rise from $41.848 billion in its preceding year.

The country’s non-oil imports reached $52.477 billion in the past year, with 5.57 percent growth compared to the year before.
