“It is expected that about 12mln liters of gas oil and 40mln liters of fuel oil from the total surplus of the country’s oil products would be exported per day,” he said.

The Iranian official further emphasized that some of neighboring countries have shown interest to import oil products from Iran, adding that contracts to export Iranian oil products to Afghanistan and Iraq have been finalized and are implemented by the two countries’ private sectors.

Sajjadi said two contracts have been signed with Iraq in this regard, noting that three million liters of gas oil will be exported to the Arab country’s southern provinces and 6 million liters of the product as well as two million liters of kerosene will be exported to Iraq’s northern parts on a daily basis.

Since ten years ago, Iran has been building seven oil refiners aiming to increase daily production to 108 million liters of gasoline, 83 million liters of gas oil, 25 million liters of fuel oil, 17 million liters of LPG and 14 million liters of kerosene.
