TEHRAN: The Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization, known as IMIDRO, says it has come to terms with some renowned European companies on implementing industrial projects, worth four billion euros.
“We have signed a memorandum of understanding with several European companies in the mining sector. In the steel and aluminum sector, we have reached an agreement, worth four billion euros, with reputable companies which have already carried out projects in Iran,” IMIDRO Chairman Mehdi Karbasian said.
The agreement will be most probably finalized during the upcoming visit of president [Rouhani] to Europe.
He also said that IMIDRO has signed a memorandum, worth €500 million, with a French company in the field of aluminum industry.
Previously, it was announced that France’s Fives Group made an agreement with IMIDRO on making joint venture for the construction of an anode production plant in Iran, which is used in the aluminum industry.
