KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday gave the customs prosecutor a last chance to submit his response to the bail plea of a suspect involved in sale of smuggled Iranian diesel.
A single bench comprising Justice Salahuddin Ahmed put off the bail application of Noor Akbar at the request of customs prosecutor. Accused Noor Akbar moved the court seeking his release on bail after the trial court dismissed his bail application.
According to the prosecution, Pakistan Customs’ Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) raided a godown located in the Korangi area of Karachi and seized 9,700 liters of Iranian diesel on October 02,2015. Alleged smuggler Noor Akbar was taken into custody from the godown.
Subsequently, an FIR was registered against Noor and others under the customs anti-smuggling laws.
