Salehi estimated the current year’s production of trout to be 140 thousand tones; “Iran’s trout export is not satisfactory while this type of fish is highly consumed by the people in the country,” he added.

“If Iranians can fulfill the needs of Russian businessmen, the export of trout is likely to hit two or three thousand tons,” he asserted.

Deputy minister of agriculture, noting the export of Iran’s shrimp to Russia, said, “shipments have been sent from Iran to Russia and both sides have reached a good agreement in this regard.”

“Iranian businessmen have made concrete plans to have a permanent presence in Russia ‘s wholesale centers and are signing long-term contracts with Russian businessmen,” Salehi underlined.
