Iranian non-oil trade reaches at $56.9b in 8 months

TEHRAN: The value of Iran’s non-oil trade hit $56.9 billion in the first eight months of the current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 21, according to the Iran Customs Administration.

The country exported $29.63 billion of non-oil goods in the eight-month period, while imported $27.3 billion of non-oil goods.

China, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, India, and Afghanistan were the top five importers of Iranian goods.

Meanwhile, China, the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Turkey, and Switzerland were the top five exporters of goods to Iran.

Petrochemicals and gas condensates were the main good exported, while corn fodder and wheat were the main goods imported.

Iran has set a target of $77.5 billion in non-oil exports for the current Iranian calendar year, according to Mojtaba Khosrotaj, the Iranian deputy industry, mining, and trade minister.

Iran’s total non-oil exports hit $49.744 billion in the previous Iranian calendar year, showing 18.87 percent rise from $41.848 billion in its preceding year.

The country’s non-oil imports reached $52.477 billion in the past year, with 5.57 percent growth compared to the year before.
